I'm Sarah, owner of White Oak Films. I am a sister, daughter, auntie, videographer and photographer! I enjoy farming, animals, gardening and learning about agriculture. I have a horse named Joey and a border collie mix named Tuck.

Ever since I was young girl, I followed my sisters and mom around photographing weddings and events with them. I didn't quite realize it then because I was just having fun but as I look back, I realize I was falling in love with capturing moments for people. Once in a lifetime moments for people that they will never get back. Capturing moments and memories that people will tell their kids and grandkids about. I started WOF in 2017 and since then, I have had the honor of filming weddings. In these 5 years, I have grown and changed so much as videographer/photographer. Starting in 2023, I will be transitioning out of weddings and doing more lifestyle work such as ranching, families, engagements, landscape photography etc. As a photographer/videographer, the passions in my heart is to capture beauty and these are the areas that I want to pursue. It will be a time of transition and change but I feel that it’s time to do that. This summer, I am headed out West to Colorado where I’ll be doing photo/video work out there. For my clients and friends here in Virginia, I will be coming home frequently so feel free to reach out if you would like to book a session with me. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me. I am so excited for the future!

Hi there!

“Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph. If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. Photography has been my way of bearing witness to the joy I find in seeing the extraordinary in ordinary.”
